Interest in forest restoration is on the rise in response to incentives that range from new financing to public interest to address growing environmental challenges. On the other hand, new threats to forests restoration are emerging, such as wildfires and the growing demand for food globally.

This session, co-hosted by Environment Defense Fund, UNCCD/G20 Global Land Initiative and World Resources Institute, will explore the global trends in forest degradation and restoration and emerging technologies available to address the challenges, on the one hand, and to drive forest restoration to scale, on the other hand, despite the setback.
