Innovation stage
Fundación Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (FARN) is an organisation with the goal of influencing policy and public agendas to prioritise inclusive, participatory governance and sustainable development. In terms of land restoration, FARN is participating in a project to conserve and revitalise the biodiversity and cultural values of the Santa Catalina Wetland in the Mantanza-Riachuelo Basin, one of the most degraded basins in the world. This restoration project will involve planting native flora, invasive species control, BIOTA surveys, and a public education strategy. The project will also employ the use of satellite imagery as an innovative way of monitoring the project’s impact. Success in this project will mean a refuge for endangered fauna.
