The G20 Global Land Initiative, whose aim is to reduce degraded land by 50% by 2040, will together with partners, compile a shared “Compendium of Best Practices in Post-Mining Landscape Restoration” in preparation for the Mining Forum at COP17 in August 2026.

Mining companies and other stakeholders with expertise and experience in this field are encouraged to contact the G20 Global Land Initiative Coordination Office with a view to participating in this exercise, contributing case studies to a publication. Full recognition will be given to contributors.

Companies, international entities and other stakeholders may submit readily available documents, reports or published case studies, and any relevant links, to the Coordination Office. Please refer to the attached questionnaire for information on the type of information we are seeking in this exercise.

For further information, please contact Mr. Charlie Avis, on cavis@unccd.int.

Deadline: 26 June 2026
