The awards are a highlight of the Youth Ecopreneur Programme (YECO), a joint initiative of the International Trade Centre and UNCCD G20 Global Land Initiative, which received more than 1,500 proposals from over 120 countries. From this global pool, 225 entrepreneurs were selected for the YECO Bootcamp to learn practical tools, expert guidance and peer collaboration.

In December, 25 of them went through the YECO Accelerator, which prepared them to pitch their ideas to a jury of experts. Now  eight finalists have been selected to advance to the final stage of the programme: the YECO Awards, to be held at ChangeNOW in Paris.
