A sign that says, 'Education for All'

World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC) 2026

Start date: Monday, 21 September 2026
End date: Friday, 25 September 2026
Location: Perth, Australia

We invite you to join us at the 13th World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC) at the start of the Kambarang season. A time of wildflowers and new life in this Biological Hotspot on Wadjuk Noongar Country. We warmly welcome you to Perth, a vibrant city known for its rich cultural, social, and biological diversity, and as one of the most uniquely remote cities in the world.

At a time when so much of what is happening in the world can leave us feeling overwhelmed, it is imperative for each of us to connect with our place, community, story, voice and sources of inspiration.

The WEEC is a premier international congress dedicated to the progression of environmental education and advancement of education for sustainability. It serves as a platform for global dialogue, learning, and the exchange of ideas on environmental education programs.

This Congress will bring celebration, revitalisation, hope and empowerment to our environmental education sector. It will tackle questions on how we can be stronger together, look after each other, and continue to accelerate environmental and cultural regeneration.

We are thrilled for Perth to showcase Australia’s rich environmental and cultural heritage to delegates from around the world. From sustainable initiatives in early-learning, to the growing impact of place-based education efforts, the 13th WEEC presents a unique opportunity to share our knowledge and learn from our global counterparts.

The 13th WEEC in 2026 will facilitate stronger connections between countries in the Oceania region, and beyond. By sharing our responses to the climate crisis and exchanging international perspectives in how to live more sustainably, we aim to foster collaboration and galvanise collective action in the global community.

Delegates will leave this Congress with renewed purpose, energy, skills, and tools to inform professional practices, as well as everyday choices, lifestyles and behaviours. If you are an educator, researcher, campaigner or business owner learning and practicing sustainability as part of your everyday, come and join us as a speaker or attendee to connect, celebrate and collaborate.
