Advancing Rio Synergies through Land Restoration: Antalya Dialogue for the UNFCCC COP31 Action Agenda

Start date: Wednesday, 13 May 2026
End date: Friday, 15 May 2026
Location: Antalya, Türkiye

In 2026, all three Rio Conventions (UNCCD, CBD, UNFCCC) will hold their COPs in the same year, offering a rare opportunity to advance stronger coordination. The Strategic Antalya Dialogue, convened under the G20 Global Land Initiative (GLI), will bring together senior officials and partners to turn Rio Synergies into practical, implementation-oriented action.

Focusing on land restoration as a key entry point—linking climate, biodiversity and land goals—the Dialogue will explore how to better align national planning, investment and implementation across the conventions. Türkiye, as host of UNFCCC COP31, will present its emerging approach and gather feedback.

Taking place ahead of the 2026 COPs, the meeting will serve as a working platform to identify concrete pathways for integrated action and strengthen coherence across the Rio Conventions.
