International Symposium on Emerging Restoration Industry

International Symposium on the Emerging Restoration Industry

Start date: Sunday, 30 November 2025
End date: Monday, 1 December 2025
Location: Panama City, Panama

The G20 Global Land Initiative are pleased to announce the International Symposium on the Emerging Restoration Industry, a landmark gathering to elevate restoration as a vibrant and emerging economic sector. Taking place in December 2025 in Panama City alongside the UNCCD CRIC, the symposium will bring together the diverse ecosystem of private sector actors driving land restoration on the ground.

From seedling suppliers and agroforestry firms to carbon project developers, rewilding service providers, and nature-based solutions platforms, restoration is no longer just a conservation issue — it’s a growing industry. This event will connect these implementers, highlight business models, share operational insights, and begin laying the foundation for an identity, standard, and coordination mechanism for the global restoration economy.

Symposium Objectives

  • Connect private restoration implementers and networks

  • Showcase scalable business models and on-the-ground delivery strategies

  • Explore barriers to scale and pathways for professionalization

  • Align restoration industry efforts with global policy goals

Target Audience

  • Restoration companies and contractors

  • Regenerative agriculture and agroforestry service providers

  • Carbon developers, Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) services, nature-based marketplaces

  • Industry associations, sustainability networks, and corporate buyers

The symposium builds on the momentum of the recent Restoration Economy publication by the G20 GLI, which frames land restoration as a legitimate economic sector—already supporting over 225,000 jobs and generating billions in output in countries like the United States.

Join us in Panama to help define and strengthen the restoration industry — and ensure the private sector’s essential role in delivering global restoration targets is recognized and supported.

Apply by 30 September 2025.
