G20 Global Land Initiative (G20 GLI) will join ChangeNOW from 24 to 26 April 2025. The global summit will bring together over 40,000 participants from over 140 countries to consider how to accelerate solutions for people and the planet. This year, the G20 GLI will spotlight youth-led innovation in land restoration, showcasing ten young startup founders from the Youth Ecopreneur Programme (YECO).
A joint initiative of the G20 GLI and the International Trade Centre (ITC), YECO provides training, resources and mentorship to help scale land restoration businesses led by youth.
At the three-day summit, the YECO Booth will serve as the G20 GLI’s central hub. Visitors can meet the ecopreneurs, explore their ventures and learn more about G20 GLI and YECO. Surrounded by hundreds of curated climate solutions, the booth will connect YECOs with investors, policymakers and fellow entrepreneurs.
Four YECO participants will pitch their ventures to a global audience of investors, innovators and impact leaders, offering land degradation solutions: from bamboo reforestation in Panama to seed-spreading drones in Brazil.
Featured speakers include Julia Mensa (Nunatak Biotech), Fernando de Lucca (Ceres Seeding), Boy Heemskerk (Bambouku) and Christian Adoh (Bio Planet TMC Ltd). Each will share their journey of resilience, creativity and environmental entrepreneurship, demonstrating how youth-led innovation is transforming ecosystems and economies.
G20 GLI and ITC will also host a private networking event, connecting YECOs with targeted investors, development actors and ecosystem enablers. Held in a dedicated workshop room, the session aims to spark partnerships and unlock pathways to funding and growth.
ChangeNOW is the centerpiece of Planet Week, when Paris becomes the Global Capital of Impact. From embassy events to climate film screenings and innovation exhibitions, the city will host many activities.
YECO participants will take part in these events, building connections and exploring how to integrate land restoration into broader sustainability agendas across sectors.
G20 GLI’s participation in ChangeNOW 2025 reaffirms its commitment to empowering the next generation of changemakers. Through YECO, it is building a pipeline of mission-driven entrepreneurs who are restoring land, transforming industries and creating new growth models for people and nature.
Stay tuned and join us in Paris to celebrate these bold, young leaders. The restoration economy is rising, and youth are leading it.
