Tecla J. Chumba is the chairperson of the Community Socio-Environmental Organization in Baringo County and a WRI Restoration Champion, recognized for her leadership in climate action and environmental conservation. As an Indigenous woman, she advocates for the inclusion of local communities, particularly women and youth, in restoration initiatives and sustainable land management. Tecla empowers marginalized voices in Kenya, driving impactful, community-led climate solutions.

She actively engages with the community through sensitization campaigns, speaking on local radio and television during events like World Environment Day. Her media presence amplifies the voices of marginalized communities, especially Indigenous women, and raises awareness about restoration. By sharing insights on sustainable land management and the importance of including Indigenous women and youth in discussions, Tecla highlights critical local issues and empowers her audience to take action, making her a pivotal figure in promoting climate solutions that align with the needs of Indigenous communities in Kenya.
