Kamanzi Claudine

Restoration Steward 2024, Global Landscapes Forum

Kamanzi Claudine, founder of the Forest for Life Project, restores degraded lands in Bugesera, Rwanda, using her expertise in conservation agriculture. With a focus on planting native trees like Markhamia lutea and Ficus thonningii, the project addresses soil erosion, biodiversity loss, and soil fertility. Through reforestation, agroforestry, and community involvement, Claudine fosters resilient, sustainable landscapes with lasting ecological and social benefits. She was selected as the 2024 GLF Restoration Steward for Drylands.
