Andres Bisono Leon
Founder & CEO, SOS Carbon
Andrés Bisonó León is the Founder and CEO of SOS Carbon, which he has led since its spinout from MIT’s mechanical engineering department in 2020. A ClimateTech, BlueTech, and AgTech entrepreneur, Andrés is focused on integrating social impact with sustainable industrial practices, addressing challenges in ocean conservation, invasive seaweed management, and sustainable agriculture.
Under his leadership, SOS Carbon has expanded into four countries, establishing a vertically integrated operation from seaweed harvesting to product commercialization. Building on this success, Andrés also founded SOS Biotech, which develops marine-based products like Marine Symbiotic, a seaweed-based biostimulant that increases crops yields, boosts crop resilience, reduces fertilizer dependency, and improves soil health.
Andrés holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and dual degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Finance from Drexel University. His work is driving innovation at the intersection of BlueTech, biotechnology, and regenerative agriculture.
