The Arab region faces severe climate challenges, including heightened water scarcity and droughts impacting both urban and rural areas, with Lebanon and Jordan especially strained by a high influx of displaced persons. This session will highlight projects funded by the Adaptation Fund and others in Lebanon and Jordan that promote sustainable agricultural practices in response to increased drought and desertification. Panelists will explore innovative water-saving techniques, such as wastewater treatment, water-efficient crops, permaculture, and agrivoltaic farming. The discussion will conclude with policy recommendations to advance resilient water management and enhance land productivity across the Arab region.
