Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are gaining global momentum as tools for addressing challenges such as land degradation, desertification, climate change, and biodiversity loss. While NbS can play a central role in addressing land degradation and desertification, it can also be a driver for job creation. However, such new green jobs require skilling, reskilling and upskilling, especially amongst the youth and women. The objective of this session is to highlight the impacts of NbS investments on job creation and the world of work, the green jobs potential, and the skills development needs. The participants will also get the chance to work together in a small group exercise to reflect on the skills needs in the new green jobs of the future.
