Sajid Pareeth
Director, Water & Climate, Education & Culture, Expo City Dubai
Dr. Sajid Pareeth is leading the research & development on land & water resource optimization at Expo City Dubai. He has over 18 years of experience in designing & implementing digital solutions for efficient water management having worked at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, International Water Management Institute, and The World Bank. His main domain of work in recent years has been to develop ICT based digital tools for land and water resource monitoring, climate change adaptation and disaster risk assessments leveraging satellite-based estimation of land & water use. He has contributed to several urban and agriculture projects in Middle East, Asia and Africa funded by European Union (EU), Dutch ministries, Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Dr Sajid obtained his PhD in Natural Sciences from Freie Universität Berlin. He was a Marie curie post-doctoral fellow and DAAD scholarship recipient. He is a certified trainer with University Teaching Qualification from the Netherlands who has developed multiple tailor-made trainings for various stake holders on this topic and teaches IoT & sensing for master’s students at IHE Delft in Netherlands.
