Within the UN system, Tariq serves as an Advisory Board Member to the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration and on the Advisory Group of the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions – Race to Resilience. Tariq has served a 5-year term as Co-Chair of the UNESCO Global Action Program Partner Network on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
With a diverse educational background, Tariq holds a BSc. in Investment and Financial Risk Management, a Master’s in Degrowth Economics policy, and an Alternative Master’s in Divinity. He is among the first 100 people in the world to complete a certified specialization in the field of Biomimicry. Tariq is a Kleros Fellow, a Post-Growth Institute Fellow, and a Fellow and Faculty member of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
