Mikail Haruna Daya is an environmental management and restoration practitioner. As the founder of the Drylands Initiative for Ecosystem Restoration and Capacity Building (DINERCAB), Mikail has been at the forefront of efforts to combat land degradation and drive sustainable development across Nigeria’s arid regions since 2017. His initiatives focus on pioneering agroforestry techniques, fostering community engagement, and advancing sustainable land management practices, especially within the Sudano-Sahelian belt of Northern Nigeria.

Mikail brings extensive experience in leading complex environmental projects, advocating for locally-led adaptation strategies, and building partnerships to tackle critical environmental challenges.
