Meet Our Speakers

Kwang Seok YOON is a Senior Research Fellow at Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) in Korea. He has been carrying out  research on Hydro Science and Engineering for over 28 years with a focus on development of technologies for flood analysis, forecasting, river design and management. More recently, he has been involved in conducting studies on application of AI (Artificial Intelligence) techniques that can efficiently predict flood and applied to Flood Forecasting System in Korea. His research aims to develop an efficient flood forecasting tool for basins with limited lead time, with the expectation that, by integrating advanced technologies like digital twins, it will greatly reduce future flood damage.
