Meet Our Speakers

Mette is the Just Transition Specialist for the Regional Office for Arab States, covering the climate change, green jobs, and just transition agenda across the 12 countries in the region. Her primary focus is the social dimension of climate change and climate action, supporting governments, workers’, and employers’ organisations in their just transition efforts. Prior to taking on this position, Mette worked as the Technical Officer on Just Transition in the Enterprise Department of International Labour Organisation and with the Priority Action Program on Just Transition. Before joining the ILO, she was working for a Danish employers’ organisation on private sector development and job creation in more than 15 countries, in particular the MENA and Gulf-region. Mette holds a master’s degree in Business and Development Studies from Copenhagen Business School.
