Building Capacity for Lasting Impact

G20 GLI is building capacity for lasting impact by connecting collaborative institutions, integrating environmental education into agriculture and forestry curricula, expanding access to knowledge through online learning, and training the next generation of restoration champions. With over 1 million graduates trained in restoration, millions of practitioners empowered, and new leaders equipped to drive change, these efforts are shaping a more sustainable future. By enhancing technical capacity across thematic areas and attracting increased investments from both government and the private sector, G20 GLI is creating outcomes that last.

How we are building capacity

G-CAP received 136 applications from 37 countries, selecting 24 parliamentarians from 23 countries for a 5-day program featuring masterclasses and field visits on sustainable land management. G-CAP aims to train 1,000 future leaders by 2040.

The Trigger Change! provides 48 hours of instruction, 10 case studies, a course manual, documentaries, and webinars to prepare a skilled workforce for the land restoration sector. With its courses on sustainable agricultural and urban planning, it has reached to over 800 universities. The goal is to serve one million online learners by 2040.

Land Restoration Labs

This project aims to promote education in land restoration and sustainable land use in primary and secondary schools. It offers students relevant curricula and experiential learning to foster a deeper connection to nature. The goal is to reach at least one million school students across 100 countries within an implementation period of three years.

The Trainings, including webinars, equip officials, practitioners, and experts with essential land restoration skills on topics, such as biosaline agriculture, post-mining land restoration, urban planning, GIS and remote sensing tools, drylands and lowlands.
