Apply for the Second Drylands Summer School

Experts, researchers and practitioners are invited to apply for the Second Drylands Summer School, which will take place from 12 – 15 September 2024 at the CIFOR-ICRAF Campus in Nairobi, Kenya. The deadline for application is 5 July 2024 at 23:59 hours CEST.

Participants will receive  training in advocacy for transformative land management and building resilience in drylands. The event is hosted by FAO and key partners. Detailed information about the application requirements, sponsorship and training program are available in the Registration Pack

Program Details

  • Eligibility: Open to experts, planners and policymakers with experience or operational responsibilities in managing dryland production systems. Participants must complete the FAO course “Transforming Dryland Forests and Agrosilvopastoral Systems” and prepare a brief case study.
  • Costs: While the Summer School is free, attendees must cover their travel, accommodation, and internal transport costs. Logistics will be facilitated as much as possible.
  • Upon completion, participants will receive a digital badge certification.
