Published: Wednesday, 30 October 2024
Location: Virtual

A 5-day intensive workshop on ‘Lowlands Landscape Restoration and Sustainable Management’ was organized by the UNCCD G20 Global Land Initiative, in collaboration with AfricaRice, in Côte d’Ivoire, from 19-23 August 2024. This workshop brought together experts, land managers, agricultural planners, and environmentalists  to discuss the rising challenges and opportunities surrounding the restoration of lowland ecosystems in sub-Saharan Africa.

During the upcoming webinar, our facilitators will share insights from the technical sessions, case studies, and field trips that took place, focusing on the ecological significance of lowlands, water storage, and biodiversity conservation. Participants will also explore sustainable management strategies, the impacts of lowland conversion, and the pressing need to develop effective restoration plans. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insights into lowlands restoration and help shape a sustainable future for Africa’s critical landscapes.
