The G20 Global Land Initiative: Towards 50 percent reduction in degraded land by 2040
Building on past achievements and laying the groundwork for future ambition to successfully address the global problem of climate change, the world will come together for the next round of climate negotiations at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, in November 2022.

The G20 Global Land Initiative will take part at the side event in the Blue Zone, Action Room 1 of COP27 on November 16, 2022 (15:00 – 16:00h EET). The event, which will showcase national, regional and global restoration efforts and initiatives, aims to help advance the conversation on how to achieve the global land restoration commitments collaboratively, innovatively and inclusively. The event also aims to bring a discussion about the role of the G20 in driving forward an actionable land agenda.
