As part of its national engagement in Kenya, the G20 Global Land Initiative (GLI) and Riara University Business School are co-hosting a high-level webinar, “From Innovation to Restoration: Building Kenya’s Youth-Led Restoration Economy,” taking place virtually on 22 September at 10:30 AM (EAT).

Kenya is home to one of Africa’s most vibrant innovation ecosystems and dynamic youth populations. Yet, over 30% of Kenya’s land is degraded, threatening food security, climate resilience, and rural livelihoods. In response, a new restoration economy is taking shape — powered by youth-led enterprises and sustainable business models.

This 60-minute webinar on youth and land restoration in Kenya will spotlight how young innovators, green startups, and ecosystem enablers are transforming degraded land into thriving businesses and job opportunities.

Featured speakers include:

  • Chemolex – youth-led venture using circular economy models to clean rivers and land

  • Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC) – supporting green startups nationwide

  • ASSEK – Kenya’s national network of startup and SME enablers

  • Riara University – co-host and leader in youth innovation and entrepreneurship

  • G20 Global Land Initiative – sharing the global vision for a youth-driven restoration economy

Participants will learn how to build, fund, and scale youth-led ventures in land restoration — from gaining technical skills and investment opportunities to fostering cross-sector partnerships and policy alignment. The discussion will also highlight the critical role of universities and research institutions in shaping restoration entrepreneurs.

This event is part of the G20 GLI’s commitment to supporting youth ecopreneurs and Kenya’s restoration ecosystem, with more national activities planned for 2025.

👉 Join us to reimagine the future of land restoration, youth entrepreneurship, and sustainable innovation in Kenya.
