Four Youth Ecopreneurs, including three from Africa, will discuss using land restoration as a business to develop successful enterprises and showcase their innovative projects.

11 October, 15.00 – 17.30 (Nairobi) Youth Consultation: “Creating a Land of Opportunities for the Future Generation”

The workshop, co-organized with GLF, will allow representatives of youth-led and youth-focused organizations and networks, youth advocates and other youth stakeholders present at GLF Nairobi to engage with each other to feed into the youth engagement strategy for G20 GLI and amplify youth voices in land and ecosystem restoration efforts. The workshop will result in actionable recommendations and strategies to promote land restoration and terrestrial habitat conservation.

12 October, 11.30 – 13.00 (Nairobi) Side Event: “Introducing the Land Restoration Challenge under the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration”

12 October, 14.00 – 16.00 (Nairobi) Side Event: “Why Control and Ownership of Land by Women Matters in Land Restoration”

The side event, co-organized with the Stand 4 Her Land Campaign, GROOTS Kenya, and ILC Africa, will bring grassroots women, government and CSO representatives as well as international development agencies together to: 1) highlight the nexus between land restoration, secure women land right and addressing the climate crises; 2) share knowledge and successful practices by women restoring land in highland and rangeland ecosystems; 3) create opportunity for networking and alliance building to advance land restoration goals.
