The annual Global Changemaker Academy (G-CAP) is a five-day leadership academy forparliamentarians from around the globe,organized by the G20 Land Initiative of theUnited Nations Convention to CombatDesertification ( UNCCD) in collaboration withthe United Nations System Staff College(UNSSC), at the UN Campus in Bonn, Germany,from 21- 25 August 2023.
The G-CAP will provide an exclusive opportunity for dialogue and learning among parliamentarians from around the world to engage with the issues of land conservation,maintenance and restoration.
Over five days, participants will be exposed to thought leadership in the land restoration and conservation agenda. Expert inputs include master classes by renowned land experts and senior leadership from the United Nations.
An immersive learning field visit to the city of Eschweiler and the neighbouring open cast mine will provide first-hand exposure to a real-life case of eco-social transformation. The programme will be bolstered by leadership labs and workshops on engaging different stakeholders and creating coherent policies across various areas and levels of governance and unparalleled networking opportunities with peers from around the world.
The G-CAP is an exclusive residential programme. The select cohort of 30 global parliamentarians will be chosen based on the relevance of the programme for their work and the potential they demonstrate to become agents of change in national and local contexts.

For the selected participants, the programme fees, including the residential costs for the duration of the programme, will be covered by the generous sponsorship of the G20 Land Initiative. Travel support will be available for deserving candidates.
