NAP Expo: Promoting Synergies Between Land Degradation Neutrality and Climate Change Adaptation

Co-organized by UNCCD, UNU-EHS, UNEP, and UNDP, this session focuses on the powerful synergies between Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) within the framework of National Adaptation Plans (NAPs). With land stewardship playing a critical role in both mitigation and adaptation, LDN offers a practical framework to balance land restoration and degradation. The launch of a new UNCCD-UNU report highlights how integrating LDN into NAPs can enhance resilience, restore productivity, and accelerate progress toward sustainable development goals.

The session aims to foster dialogue among governments, experts, and stakeholders on integrating land-based solutions into national climate strategies. It will showcase tools, methodologies, and best practices for aligning land management and adaptation efforts while emphasizing the importance of sustainable land management in achieving climate resilience. Interactive discussions will allow countries to exchange experiences, receive technical guidance, and learn how to overcome common barriers to integration.
